Nolinor Aviation is expanding its Maintenance Engineering capabilities and is seeking a highly motivated Aeronautical Structures Engineer to spearhead the establishment of an in-house B737 Structural Engineering Group. This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing organization and directly support the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of one of the largest Boeing 737-200/300/400 fleets in North America.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, the Aeronautical Structures Engineer will be responsible for structural engineering support across our B737 fleet. The selected candidate will lead the development of internal structural engineering capabilities with the long-term objective of obtaining a TCCA Design Approval Representative (DAR/DER) for Nolinor, allowing faster repair development, reduced downtime, and improved operational responsiveness.

This strategic position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys complex problem-solving, hands-on aircraft support, and building a new capability from the ground up.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for structural damage assessments, structural repairs, and repair follow-ups on the B737 Classic fleet (-200/-300/-400);
  • Develop, review, and approve structural repair schemes in accordance with OEM documentation, industry standards, and TCCA regulations;
  • Liaise with Boeing, MRO facilities, and regulatory authorities to coordinate repair approvals, AMOCs, and escalating engineering issues;
  • Create and maintain internal structural engineering procedures, documentation, and technical standards;
  • Support aircraft heavy maintenance visits and field operations by offering real-time structural repair guidance;
  • Oversee the development of Nolinor’s internal structural engineering program with the long-term goal of establishing an approved TCCA DER/DAR function;
  • Conduct root-cause analysis for structural defects and recurring issues; recommend corrective actions;
  • Support continued airworthiness activities including SB/AD evaluations and structural reliability tracking;
  • Review and evaluate STCs, engineering orders, and external repair documents;
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to maintenance and inspection personnel.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in structural engineering for transport-category aircraft.
  • Strong knowledge of Boeing 737 structures, preferably including experience with the Classic series.
  • Familiarity with TCCA, FAA, or EASA regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with structural repair authoring, stress analysis, or damage tolerance analysis.
  • Ability to interpret OEM SRMs, AMMs, SBs, and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under time-critical conditions.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal In French
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal In English (Because our manuals and procedures are written in English and because collaboration with English-speaking firms is required).

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within an AMO/Part-145 or airline engineering environment;
  • Hands-on experience supporting heavy checks or AOG repairs;
  • Familiarity with damage tolerance methodologies and transport-category certification rules;
  • Prior experience with DER/DAR processes or aspirations to become a TCCA DAR/DER;
  • Knowledge of Boeing 737 corrosion programs and aging-aircraft requirements.
